Retrotransposition Definition
Retrotransposition involves movement of a mobile eukaryotic DNA element, retrotransposon, to a new site in the genome by transcription of the element into an RNA copy that is reverse transcribed by a transposon-encoded enzyme into a DNA element that is integrated into a new site by a transposon-encoded integrase.
