Ribosome Assembly Interference Definition
Ribosome Assembly Interference involves inhibition or restraint of the formation of small 120-150A diameter cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein organelles in the nucleolus and composed of rRNA and some 80 different imported cytoplasmic proteins. Assembled, exported ribosomes (free or attached to the ER) are the site of protein synthesis from aminoacyl-tRNAs as directed by mRNAs.
