Rnase-III Family Protein Definition
Eukaryotic RNase-III Family Proteins are a group of related protein orthologs of bacterial dsRNA-specific RNase III. The basic functions of Yeast RNase III in maturation of snRNAs, snoRNAs, and rRNA appear to be widely conserved. Ubiquitous human nuclear Ribonuclease III is involved in pre-rRNA processing and endonucleolytically cleaves double-strand RNA to 5'-phosphomonoester.
