Human SIRT1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 10q21.3 and is approximately 34 kb in length. This allele, which encodes NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin-1 protein, may play a role in the attenuation of protein acetylation. Genetic variation may be associated with the relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
