TACC3 wt Allele Definition

Human TACC3 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 4p16.3 and is approximately 24 kb in length. This allele, which encodes transforming acidic coiled-coil-containing protein 3, plays a role in the regulation of microtubule polymerization during mitosis. The TACC3 gene is associated with several types of cancer including multiple myeloma, breast tumors and ovarian carcinomas.
