TFF1 wt Allele Definition

Human TFF1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 21q23.1 and is approximately 4 kb in length. This allele, which encodes trefoil factor 1 protein, is involved in gastrointestinal mucosa stabilization. Wild type allele dysfunction, including altered expression, deletion, and/or mutation, is observed frequently in human gastric carcinomas.
