Human TGFB1 wild-type allele is located within 5q31 and is approximately 35 kb in length. This allele, which encodes transforming growth factor-beta-induced protein ig-h3 protein, plays a role in proliferation and differentiation and is involved in the modulation of cellular adhesion and ligand interactions for several integrins.
