TNF Receptor-Associated Factor-2 Definition
TRAF2 is a homo- or (with TRAF1) heterodimer adaptor protein for TNFR1, TNFR2, and CD40 that mediates activation of NFKB. TRAF2 contains a TRAF motif known to bind kinases involved in TRAF-mediated signaling, a Zn RING finger, and cysteine/histidine-rich motifs. E2F1 can down regulate TRAF2 and inhibit anti-apoptotic NFKB signals. (from OMIM 601895 and NCI)
