Human TNFRSF8 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p36 and is approximately 81 kb in length. This allele, which encodes tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 8 protein, plays a role in the modulation of both the nuclear factor kappa-B signal pathway and leukocyte transformation. The gene is involved in the activation of lymphoid cells in Hodgkin's disease.
