TRH wt Allele Definition

Human TRH wild-type allele is located within 3q13.3-q21 and is approximately 3 kb in length. This allele, which encodes thyroliberin protein, plays a role in the regulation of both thyroid function and neurotransmission. Decreased expression of this gene can result in hypothyroidism.
