Triaminic DM Syrup Definition
A commercial combination preparation, by Novartis, orally administered as syrup containing the antitussive dextromethorphan hydrobromide in combination with all or any of the following agents: the analgesic antipyretic acetaminophen, the antihistamine chlorpheniramine maleate and the decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. Dextromethorphan is used to suppress cough by raising the threshold for coughing in the cough center in the central nervous system (CNS).
