Ubiquitin Specific Protease-8 Definition
Encoded by human USP8 Gene (C19 Peptidase Family), Ubiquitin Specific Protease 8 is a deubiquitinating enzyme related to the TRE2 oncogene product that cleaves at the carboxyl terminus of ubiquitin. In chronic myeloproliferative disorder, an oncogenic fusion of p85-beta occurs with the carboxyl end of USP8. (OMIM, Swiss-Prot, LocusLink, and NCI)
