Uterine Swelling Definition
With a high concentration of estrogen receptors, the uterus is one of the most sensitive tissues to the hormone and demonstrates two basic responses to estrogen: it swells by influx of water into the lumen of the uterus, and it increases in weight by the growth of the endometrial layer.
