Expressed in prostate, brain, pancreas, skeletal muscle, small intestine, testis, leukocytes, and thymus by human CREB4 Gene (bZIP/CREB Family), 395-aa cAMP Responsive Element Binding Protein 4 is a transcription factor with a basic leucine zipper region that binds to octameric DNA palindrome cAMP-response elements (CRE) present in many viral and cellular promoters.
