pH Homeostasis Definition
pH homeostasis is one of numerous control systems that are involved in keeping the body's internal milieu consistent within a narrow range of variation and are important to the continuation of life. Important homeostatic mechanisms in the maintenance of blood pH include the buffering action of bicarbonate, and the actions of the renal-respiratory system. (from NCI)
